1955  first arrested with 156 activists
1958  married Winne Madikizela
1961  was asked to lead armed struggle
1962  left South Africa secretly (David) then arrested his return
1990  released from jail
1993  awarded Nobel Peace Prize
1994  first Democratically elected president
1999 step down the power
